David Nash (b. 1945), one of Great Britain’s most prominent sculptors, was the first European artist to work at Tandem Press. He studied at Brighton College, Kingston College of Art, and the Chelsea School of Art. Nash was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts in 1999 and was inducted into the Order of the British Empire in 2004. Known for installations mimicking natural landscapes, often using wood from recently killed trees, Nash is considered an English Land artist, executing much of his work in rural locations or the wilderness of the United Kingdom. His work can be seen in the collections of such prestigious institutions as the Guggenheim Museum of New York, London’s Tate Gallery, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. He has also been exhibited in the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Korea, Switzerland, France, Tokyo, Finland, Belgium, Sweden, and throughout the United States, in San Francisco, Ashville, Washington D.C., Dallas, Minneapolis, and many other locations. Nash continues to work at his studio in Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales.
