Andy Burgess

Andy Burgess (b. 1969), a London-born painter and collage artist, is best known for his colorful explorations of modernist and mid-century architecture as well as his mosaic-like collages created using vintage matchbooks, ticket stubs, and other aged ephemera. Describing his style as “Pop Geometry,” Burgess uses vibrant color and clean edges to create work reflecting his many influences and interests including Kurt Schwitters, David Hockney, Bauhaus, De Stijl, and the “golden age” of American advertising and graphic design from the 1930s-1960s. Burgess’ work has been featured in several solo and group shows throughout Europe and the United States as well as international art fairs and publications. Andy Burgess currently lives and works in Tucson, Arizona.
