Shared Horizon: New Editions from Tandem Press
Exhibition Dates: January 5–February 20, 2026
Shared Horizons: New Editions from Tandem Press highlights our most recent print editions featuring the work of Michelle Grabner, Marie Lorenz, Alison Saar, Marie Watt, and Dyani White Hawk. The exhibition’s title is drawn from Marie Watt’s print Shared Horizon (Facing East), a work composed of a glowing horizon of words that reference animals, elements, and histories. The textual horizon acknowledges that somewhere in the world, the sun is always either rising or setting, a reminder of our shared experience of this daily phenomenon.
Marie Lorenz turns to another natural phenomenon, the waterways surrounding New York Harbor, as her subject. Her monoprints depict, through colorful washes of blue and orange, the flow of detritus polluting these waters. Michelle Grabner presents a series of primary-colored, “woven” prints that recall the fundamentals of early art education. Alison Saar’s Razin’ Cane II channels both ancestral memory and collective history, honoring generations of Black resistance and resilience. Dyani White Hawk similarly draws upon ancestral knowledge in a series of bold geometric prints that continue her exploration of the Lakota Kapemni symbol—two triangles that mirror one another and meet at their tips. This symbol speaks to interconnection and interdimensional space and, much like a sunset, simultaneously references both the spiritual and physical realms.
